Afghanistan Reference Group
The Afghanistan Reference Group (ARG) is a group of organizations concerned about Afghanistan that bring to the dialogue a unique, professional, independent, non-governmental knowledge base of diverse views to inform policy decisions. The group is co-convened by Peacebuild and the Canadian Council for International Co-operation (CCIC).
ARG initiatives include:
- Policy dialogue
- Awareness raising and information sharing
- Opening space for collaboration among members to engage collectively in advocacy or common programming
- Enhancing analysis of the situation in Afghanistan (by encouraging experts and practitioners to bring their ideas to Cdn context)
In January 2008, the ARG provided written submissions to the Manley Panel on:
- Human Rights, Gender Equality;
- Security and Peace; and
- Humanitarian Assistance, Development and Governance.
